Manhattan was transformed into a vibrant celebration of colors, performances, and joyous festivities as the annual Nepal Day Parade took place on Sunday. Since 2016, this parade has graced the heart of New York City, showcasing Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and honoring its Nepali community.

The event featured a myriad of captivating presentations that brought to life the arts, culture, and traditional costumes from various villages in Nepal. Spectators were enthralled by mesmerizing traditional dances, music, and rituals that beautifully depicted the diversity and splendor of Nepali culture. The streets of Manhattan were adorned with intricate decorations, capturing the essence of Nepal’s vibrant traditions.

Distinguished guests and community leaders gathered to demonstrate their support and appreciation for the Nepali community. New York City Mayor Eric Adams, actively participating in the festivities, expressed his admiration for the Nepali contributions to the city. He recognized the impact of the Nepali community, encompassing their rich traditions, cultural practices, and the globally renowned Nepali dish, momos.

“The Nepali community contributes so much to our city: traditions, culture, and of course, the world-famous momos! It was an honor to celebrate Nepal Day and the founding of Nepal as a republic with them today,” Mayor Adams stated, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
Congresswoman Grace Meng, New York State Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar, and other local leaders also graced the parade with their presence, demonstrating their support for the Nepali community and their commitment to multiculturalism and inclusivity.
